Why should I have a web site?
Having a web site increases your exposure exponentially over printed materials.
With a web site, people from all over the world can find you 24/7. Furthermore,
there is no limit to how much information you can offer on a web site.
Why are you less expensive than other developers?
I run my own company and therefore able to reduce overhead while offering professional
services at reasonable costs.
How do I get started?
I focus on four phases of development: discovery, analysis of the details,
design and development.
Discovery - Creating a web site. is accomplished by detailed
planning and careful consideration of your business, focusing on how it relates
to your
customers and how to reach them. The first stage of development is discovering
your business needs, the core components, how it works and what it does.
A fundamental part of designing a web site. is understanding the main objectives
of your business so that the final product will create value for your company.
Analysis - The second stage is analyzing the details of
business structure and organizing them into a coherent form. Structuring
the data will give
you structured web pages, presenting your company online in a streamlined
and consistent manner. When all of the details have been listed, you will
receive a proposal that is a list of everything that will and will not be
included on your web site. This adds value for you, as you know what you
are getting up front. A clear vision of your web site's structure will create
a
site that is accessible, straightforward, and improved usability.
Design - Third, is the design stage. A good design focuses on the function
to be performed and is delivered in a polished and unique manner that makes the web user want to come back for
more. A web design begins as a concept and evolves into an instinctive product that wraps technology
in a showcase of art. Your web design will be new and 100% yours, setting your company apart from the
competition.
Development - Fourth is development, when the custom graphics, illustrations,
text, and navigation come together to form the new site. Efficiency is key as each detail is carefully thought
out and planned so that the end result will be impressive. Finally, when the site is ready to be tested on
a private folder, you will verify the end product, and the web site will "go live" to everyone on
the Internet.
What do you use to build your sites?
I use a combination of tools to build sites including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop,
Macromedia Dreamweaver, Flash and text editors. I also pay particular attention to developing sites that follow quality
guidelines suggested by popular search engines and current CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) standards.
How do I make changes to the site after it's up?
I am always available at an hourly rate to make changes or update your site.
Alternately, I offer consultation to clients who prefer to maintain the site
themselves. My sites are compatible with Adobe Contribute, for those who would like a simple program to update their own content.

How long will it take until the site is online?
Depending on the scope of work and the services required, it can take anywhere
from a week to several months to complete a web site. I limit the number of clients I accept to increase the quality of my work. Please contact me as soon as possible to ensure availability for your project timeframe.
Do you design ecommerce sites?
I work with hosting companies and merchant accounts that provide ecommerce
software. I can integrate their shopping carts into your site and create
a complete online store. I most frequently design carts using
Cart32,
Mal's Ecommerce, or
Paypal. I am also open to designing
with other online shopping carts, if you prefer a different system
Will my site look good on different browsers (Internet Explorer,
Netscape), and for people with different monitor sizes?
Yes, I design my sites to work with all web browsers and for people viewing
at a wide range of resolutions. Furthermore, I optimize all images for the
web to ensure they load quickly regardless of the viewer's connection speed.
I use the latest WC3 standards in CSS.
Do you build adult content sites?
Absolutely not. I am strongly opposed to this content on the web.
